PAYMENT POLICY

All payments must be made by cash, check, or instant bank transfer (using Zelle). Lesson fees are paid monthly, at or before the first lesson of each month. Monthly fees are:

30-minute lessons: $240 ($60/lesson)
45-minute lessons: $300 ($75/lesson)
60-minute lessons: $360 ($90/lesson)

These flat fees reserve your appointment in my weekly schedule for a given month. No price adjustment or refund will be made for missed lessons for any reason. I must maintain this strict policy in order to effectively run my business. (Please note: monthly fees do not change for occasional months with five lessons rather than four, nor for any holidays.)

LESSONS AT MY HOME OR BY INTERNET

I typically travel to my students’ homes for lessons. However, if it is more convenient, lessons are also available at my home (on Grand Army Plaza in Park Slope), or by internet (Skype, Zoom, or Google Meet). The rates for lessons are the same regardless of location.

RESCHEDULING POLICY

If you must miss your regularly-scheduled lesson in a given week, I will always do my best to accommodate you on another day that week if possible. This is offered on a goodwill basis; I promise to make every effort to reschedule (including inquiring if other students can swap their appointment time) but it is not a guarantee. To reiterate my payment policy: no price adjustment or refund will be made for missed lessons for any reason.

HOLIDAYS

There only two holidays during which I do not teach: Thanksgiving and Christmas. There is no monthly fee reduction for these two national holidays. For every other holiday, I teach my regular schedule for students who are available. Please let me know as soon as possible if you will be gone during a holiday, so that I can better accommodate those who are still in town.

SUMMER MONTHS

I aim to teach as full a schedule as possible in June and July, but am aware that many families begin their summer vacations during these months. For this reason, I reach out to students ahead of these months to prepare my schedule. I take the month of August off every year.

I am happy to have morning lessons in June and July with students who are finished with school. It is possible to schedule two or more lessons a week with a single student, if that is convenient due to their summer travels. Given the flexible nature of these months, I accept payment on a week-to-week basis, rather than monthly.
